AGBOVILLE PROJECT
Agboville Project Overview
The Agboville Project covers an area of 1,400 km² and is located in the southeast of the West African Craton, within the South-Comoé domain. This region forms part of the Birimian, which consists of Paleoproterozoic rocks across West Africa. The project is strategically located and is considered highly prospective for gold as well as a range of other critical minerals, including nickel, cobalt, copper, lithium, tantalum, niobium, and beryllium.
Exploration Highlights
Air Core Drilling Program: A 6,000-metre, 174-hole Air Core drilling program was completed in Q2 2019, targeting the northern 10 km of the +30 km northeast-trending gold-in-soil anomaly known as the Tyche Prospect.
Geological Findings Drilling and line clearance uncovered a strain-partitioned shear zone extending over 1 kilometre, with more intense shear zones up to 30 metres wide. These zones generally strike ~060 degrees and dip moderately to steeply to the southeast.
Encouraging Results:
First-Pass Success: The drilling results confirm a bedrock source to the gold anomalism, indicating potential for a large gold system. Both width and grade potential have been demonstrated across the entire 10 km of the anomaly drilled so far.
Notable Drill Intercepts:
9m @ 1.24g/t Au (incl. 1m @ 4.0g/t) from surface
6m @ 1.12g/t Au from surface (within a 20m @ 0.44g/t Au from 0m)
6m @ 1.42g/t Au from 8m
5m @ 1.02g/t Au from 34m
4m @ 1.34g/t Au from 8m
Trenching and Additional Exploration:
Trench Excavation Results: A trench excavated approximately 5 km south of the last drill traverse returned encouraging results, further confirming the presence of a large gold system. Notable assay results from Trench 2 include:
82m @ 0.21g/t Au (includes internal dilution), with highlights of:
4 4m @ 0.28g/t Au, which includes:
6m @ 1.15g/t Au
2m @ 1.80g/t Au
Next Steps
The exploration team has identified mineralization in multiple drill holes, suggesting a fertile structure capable of hosting economic mineralization.
Given the large target size, the company intends to enhance geological understanding and employ exploration and geophysical techniques to prioritize the most prospective parts of the system for follow-up drill testing.
